St. Paul Lutheran Church, Hondo, Texas has an opening for a full time pastor. The former pastor departed after 18 years of service. The pastor is to provide guidance to the congregation for the purpose of achieving our goals and execution of our mission for Christ, which would include the following responsibilities.
Preaching and leading Worship
Administering the sacraments
Advising and mentoring church staff and council
Congregational Care and Spiritual growth, including counselling and visiting sick or homebound.
Community ministry - participate in outreach through involvement with local events
Participating with the LCMC Texas District
St. Paul is located in a rural community of 8,000 people in South Texas with an average Sunday attendance of 145 and a membership of 350+.
The Call Committee consists of a diverse group (age, gender, and background) of members with the mission of identifying the best-qualified pastor to continue spiritual and congregational growth. All candidates’ applications will be kept strictly confidential. Candidates will be notified after the call process concludes with the selection of a pastor.
