Ringing in 2014 with Prayer, Church Planting and Feeding the Hungry

We will begin 2014 by kicking off our Second Annual Three Days of Prayer on Tuesday, Jaunuary 7th.
To share photos of your Three Days of Prayer experience with us via Facebook or Instagram, use the hashtags #threedaysofprayer, #lcmc, and #oktopost (if it's ok for us to consider your photo for possible publication on our website or in a future LCMC newsletter). Church Planting Events
The following week, Rev. Dan Clites, LCMC's Coordinator for New Ministry Development, will host an Evangelism Event and a New Church Planter's Meeting at Lutheran Church of the Cross in Laguna Woods, CA.
Feeding the Hungry in 2014
As many of you have probably read, we plan to package 400,000 meals together at our 14th Annual Gathering in Des Moines, which will feed people all around the world.
To help make this happen, throughout the year, we are asking each of our congregations to set aside funds to help us raise $80,000 to cover the cost of food, packaging and shipping. To learn more about our service project, click here.

Kristy Thomas is a nerd with an affinity for 90s music, collecting antiques, and creating her own Halloween decorations. When she needs to unwind (which is pretty much all of the time), she likes arts & crafts, hiking and camping with her dogs, and playing the ukulele. As Communications & Public Relations Specialist, she is responsible for keeping the people of LCMC informed of what’s going on within the association and for tackling all of the creative-type projects. For the future, she would like to see the congregations of LCMC be proactive in raising up future leaders and for the “20-30 somethings” to be able to make some cool things happen, both within The Church and throughout the world.
