Today Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ announces the launch of our new web site, which features several brand new features, as well as improvements to some of our existing ones.
If you're reading this article, you've probably already discovered our blog. Here you'll be able to find the most up-to-date news and announcements from LCMC and read full articles related to many of our tweets and Facebook posts. We'll be updating the blog as often as we can, in the hopes of keeping all of our member congregations well-informed about what's going on within the LCMC community. Upon visiting our blog, you'll also notice that entries are organized by content in the right-hand column of the page, making it quick and easy to find exactly what you're looking for.
In the interest of helping you find information more easily, we've added several other features to the site as well. If you're looking for a particular person or LCMC Congregation, you can now search through a database (under the directories tab) for exactly what you need to find. We have also included a new congregational mapping tool to help users quickly locate LCMC congregations they're interested in and find information on them. Another new feature that we've added is our myLCMC section, which allows site users to create a profile. Once your myLCMC profile is created, you'll be able to use a lot of the additional features on this site, including the discussion forums and the ability to post open leadership positions on our website.
One thing that you might also notice is that some of the content on our new site is organized differently from the way that it was on the old one. While it may take a little time to get used to, our hope is that the structure of our new site will make finding specific information a more expedient process.
If you haven't added us on Facebook or Twitter yet, you might want to consider it. Not only is it a great way for all of us to connect with one another, it's also an effective way to find out what's going on.
You may notice several slight changes to the site over the next couple of weeks. We'll be making a few slight tweaks and adjustments, but please keep in mind that we're making these improvements to help our website become more user-friendly.
We'll also be adding additional blog posts, updating our social networking sites, and adding a few photo galleries to the site in the weeks to come, so stay tuned!
