This blog features various relief funds established by or made available to LCMC congregations and ministry partners. The recent fires in central Texas have destroyed over 1,500 homes, blazing through approximately 34,000 acres of residential area. While most needs for food, water, and clothing are currently being met, many of the people in this area must replace everything they used to own. Area churches are pitching in to help. Greetings friends in Christ from Living Word Lutheran Church in Minot, North Dakota. The June 2011 flood in the Minot area left hundreds of families devastated. Many congregations of the LCMC have sent emails asking what help they could provide to help these families. We, at Christ the King have been doing on the ground work. I took our first load of supplies to a city devastated by a tornado today and am going back tomorrow to bring ice and water to people who will be without power for up to 10 days.
