Living Word Lutheran Church is a small congregation that formed in 2010 in Rogers, Arkansas with 30 families and averaging around 45 in attendance. We meet in the beautiful facility of the Rogers Seventh Day Adventist church. For seven years our ministry was led by a retired LCMC pastor. Currently we have as an interim a retired NALC pastor who lives in this area. We are an inclusive congregation that practices open Communion, has a blended worship service, and believes that a personal relationship with Jesus Christ will give us the ability to bring the Kingdom of God into our community and our world.
We are seeking a part time pastor or a recently retired pastor who will lead in worship, teach Sunday Adult study, call on members and prospective members, and do pastoral care. It is important to us that this pastor shares our emphasis on Biblical principles and has a vision for missions. Our congregation is lay-led, presently supporting five missions all completely in the hands of capable people.
Rogers is located in the progressive Northwest corner of Arkansas, just miles from the Missouri and Oklahoma borders. The area is the economic engine of the state and has the many advantages of the University of Arkansas, Crystal Bridges American Art Museum, Arkansas Music Pavilion, numerous golf courses, Beaver Lake, extensive bicycling and hiking trails, and many other cultural and recreational opportunities. NWA is a perfect place for a retired pastor to serve and a part time pastor to obtain other work if needed.
