On a mission to Declare God’s praises…
Grace Lutheran Church (gracemarshfield.org), of rural Marshfield, Wisconsin, has begun the search for a new, full-time pastor. Our congregation was blessed with seven years of pastoral leadership under our previous pastor, who obeyed God’s call to share his talents with a new congregation. Grace Lutheran is located approximately 7 miles west of Marshfield in central Wisconsin. Marshfield is a thriving community of 20,000 people with a unique blend of city life and country life and boasts a large medical complex and a school system which is consistently one of the top in the state.
Our church building was originally built in 1949, and has undergone renovations/additions in 1996 and 2004. Our facility has recently completed a technology upgrade, including a new sound system, new video system and new praise band setup to compliment the many musicians who attend our church.
Our congregation has a membership of approximately 230 members, with an average Sunday attendance of 66, which does not include special services such as Easter or Christmas. We enjoy many congregation-led ministries such as Overflow (community outreach missions), Mission of the Month, various Bible studies, Sunday school, VBS, and a self-sustaining Childcare Center. We have an office manager on staff who supports both our congregation and our Childcare Center. Prior to our pastoral vacancy our congregation experienced an increase in membership and more importantly a spiritual growth spurt. To continue this spiritual growth, our congregation has put together a list of important traits we are looking for in our new pastor:
1. Biblical knowledge/On fire for the Lord
2. Willing to challenge us/convict us
3. Enjoys youth leadership/involvement
4. Missional and Spirit-led
5. Compassionate and enjoys visiting those that may be “shut-ins” or the elderly
We are looking for someone who is willing to be led by the Spirit and has the tools and desire to grow the Kingdom for His glory, while allowing us to be equal partners in the Kingdom work.
Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience):
This pastor will have a Master of Divinity Degree from an accredited Lutheran Seminary, meet or be willing to meet the Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ (LCMC) standards for a certified call and complete the requirements as outlined in the congregational bylaws and constitution.
Individuals who are interested in this opportunity should contact our Call Committee Chairman, David Denowski via e-mail at: David.Denowski@gmail.com
