  1. How do I join LCMC?

    Interested in joining LCMC?

    You can find the type of membership application that is right for you by visiting our forms page, which is located under Documents > Forms.

    If your congregation has taken a vote and would like to become a member of our association, you can fill out the Congregational Membership Subscription Form. This form can be completed and submitted online, or it can be downloaded, printed, and sent to us via snail mail.

    Individuals are also welcome to join our association as associate members by downloading and sending us your completed Associate Membership Form.

  2. How many congregations is LCMC made up of?

    Statistical information regarding the number of congregations affiliated with LCMC can be found on the main page of our website.  Look for the "LCMC Stats" section on the left side of the page,  just below our list of upcoming events.

  3. How can I find an LCMC congregation near me?

    To locate an LCMC congregation in a specific area, take a look at our Congregations Directory.  You can search for congregations in a couple of different ways.  Just remember to click the "filter" button after entering your search criteria in order for our directory to find what you are looking for.
     
    If you're more of a visual learner, try our Congregational Mapping Tool.   It allows you to view LCMC congregations pinpointed on a map, allows you to zoom in and view specific locations and provides links to congregations' contact information.

  4. Can you send me contact information for...?

    If you're seeking contact information for a specific LCMC congregation, our Congregational Directory is a great place to start.  Are you looking to find information for a mission congregation?  We also have an entire directory specifically for Mission Congregations.  Just fill out the necessary fields that you are searching for and click the "filter" button.
     
    To find information on our partner organizations, visit the Partners page.  You will find what you're looking for in the menu on the left side of the page.
     
    Contact information for specific individuals can be found in one of several places:
    • A list of LCMC pastors and their contact information can be found in our Pastors Directory.
    • Contact information for pastors who reported themselves as available for a call are listed here.
    • Our Seminarians Directory features a list of LCMC seminarians and how to contact them
    • Direct contact information for specific LCMC Board and Staff members can be found on our Board & Staff page.
    Another way to get in contact with others from the LCMC community is through the LCMC Forum. Once you've created a myLCMC account, you'll be able to post in our message forums and get in contact with other LCMC congregations.
     
    Our Facebook Page and Facebook Group are also a great way to connect with others.

  7. My congregation needs to call a new Pastor. Now what?

    Information for congregations who are or will be calling a new pastor can be found on the Ministry Board Page.
     
    You may also wish to download and view the LCMC Call Packet.  It is filled with information to help your congregation through this process.

  8. How do I become certified for ministry with LCMC and listed on your website?

    The "Clergy" section of the Ministry Board Information page offers a list of informational documents to help those who are interested in becoming certified for ministry with Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ.

    You will be eligible to be added to our listings when your certification process has been completed.

  11. How can I share resources with another congregation?

    Are there items that you or your congregation would like to donate, loan or sell to another congregation?  If so, you can have them listed in our Resource Center!

  12. What about Chaplains?

    Seminarians interested in going directly into a chaplaincy ministry could be called and deployed as a chaplain by an LCMC congregation. LCMC as an association of congregations does not ordain. Congregations do. Therefore the way LCMC handles specialized ministry by a newly graduated seminary student is that that student would be called and ordained in a congregation and then deployed by that congregation to the chaplaincy role. This "deployed" relationship need have no financial or other obligation by the congregation except that the congregation consider the person to be doing ministry in partnership with them, and that the chaplain report to the congregation about the ministry in an agreed upon manner.

    Those pastors who already have been ordained and served in ministry can use this "called and deployed" arrangement if they are hired for a chaplaincy position.

    Those seeking endorsement for military chaplaincy should check the "Contact" link and "Boards and Staff" directory page on the LCMC website for the LCMC Military Endorser and contact that individual.
