Districts

What are they and how do they work?

Districts are flexible partnerships between congregations. Congregations can belong to as many districts as they please, or none at all. Districts can be formed around geography, theology, values, shared interests, congregational characteristics, worship styles, etc. Activities of districts may include providing tangible support for member congregations, planning joint events, planting additional mission congregations, recruiting and training (or supervision of training) of seminarians.

Individuals whose congregations have not joined LCMC or a district may participate as associate members or by forming chapters, according to the guidelines of the district and LCMC.
