Annual Gathering to Include Recognition of Ordinations

Our Annual Gathering is a great time to renew friendships, catch up on one another’s lives and ministeries, and, as was the case last year, thank others for their faithful service to Christ.

Last year we began what we hope will be an annual event when we recognized significant ordination anniversaries.

Leadership Magazine recently reported that of every twenty pastors who begin ministry, only one retires from ministry, so we want to celebrate those who’ve made it to twenty-five years, and every five years thereafter.  So, if you’ve been ordained twenty-five, thirty, thirty-five, forty years (you get the idea), be sure to be in Dallas for our Annual Gathering when we’ll once again be acknowledging ordination anniversaries and giving away anniversary pins.

I was ordained 25 years ago, July 7th, 1990. I will not be in attendance in Dallas for the Annual Gathering this year but we are sending two other reps from our church. This year I attended our NW District Gathering in Kalispell, MT instead of church wide gathering, and I loved it too.

I was ordained May 29, 1960, 55 years ago. I thank God for His grace and guidance, and all His care. I served 4 parishes, 13 years as nursing home/hospital chaplain, and for the past 16 years as visitation pastor for Faith Lutheran, Hutchinson, MN.. I will not be able to attend the annual gathering. 3 pastors from my congregation will be there with responsibilities for the gathering. I must tend the "home fires" in their absence. I will pray for a meaningful and purposeful gathering. Paulus Pilgrim
