LCMC Congregation Celebrates 150th Anniversary, Installs New Pastor

Pastor EdOn September 18, 2011, St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Stendal, Indiana had cause for two celebrations as they installed their new Pastor and honored the founding of the congregation 150 years ago.

Pastor Harold Heidegger, a former Pastor of the congregation, served as the Presiding Minister for the installation.

Also involved in the installation was Dale Reller, Council President. Pastor Ed’s wife, Debbi, was also welcomed to the community.

Pastor Edwin H. Wicks was raised in Winter Park, Florida. He graduated from the University of Central Florida, Orlando, before attending the Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary, Columbia, SC. This year, Pastor Ed celebrated 30 years in the Ministry, having served congregations in North and South Carolina, 8 years as a Navy Chaplain and prior to coming to St Peter’s, he served a congregation in Nebraska.
